Please Help ID an Trilobite

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My sister recently traveled to Morocco and bought a trilobite for me.

Can someone please help me identify the authenticity of this fossil?

Also, what types of trilobite is this anyway?

Thanks so much!

Ken

Welcome to the Forum. :)

The trilobite looks to me like a Hollardops sp. (But I could be totally wrong about that).

It looks mostly real, but the tip of the cephalon (cranidium) looks like it has been restored or repaired.

Notice the air bubbles at the front of the trilobites "nose".

Here is a picture of what one should look like:

Maybe @piranha can ID it properly.

I agree with Fossildude19. That nose looks totally wrong. It's probably restored.
