Thanks guys, but it really does have some work to do on it.  its got several problems not counting that its covered in oily dust.  I will give it a good soapy wash and add some 2 part colored putty in certain areas along with some acrylic work on it and maybe some work on the tail, but all in all its coming along perty dang good.

Hey RJB,

Could you post a pic of a high quality lobster that you have done. It may prevent me from butchering that lobster concretion that I received from you from the Fossil Forum auction months ago. Been having fun with it, SLOWLY picking away at the matrix. Even this pic will help tremendously. But I didn't know to look for legs!! My lobster will NEVER rival yours here, but I have shown my lobster to many people and they are always amazed! At least I know it looks like a lobster, a beat up one prepped by a left handed novice,, but at least a lobster. Hah. Also for labeling purposes, can you tell me the species and ROUGHLY where its location was.

Thank, Mike

Thanks again everybody.

JP, not quite sure how many hours, but I would guess at least 15 hours.  I also tend to 'under estimate' so its probably more upwards of 20?

Even 20 hours seems a little on the light side for the amount of rock you remove and the details you are able to coax out of those old steak companions.

Hey Kris, about the only time I keep track of hours is when Im working for a customer, which is not very often.

I understand totally. I don't keep track for my stuff either, especially when the project comes in and out of storage multiple times during the prep.
