Holy Roller Batman

Years ago when I was active on the Paleolist fossil discussion list

a member posted images of a large enrolled Parahomalonotus planus planus
Devonian trilobite from Morocco. He said he picked it up in Tucson. LINK

At the time I remember doing a Google search and

saw images of flats of these huge enrolled trilobites at Tucson.

Didn't go to Tucson this year...However, I was there the previous
2 years and didn't see any.

Anyone know of any dealers on the Net offering these "Holy Rollers" for sale?
Maybe they were fakes? Comments?

Barry

From what I have seen these trilobites are not faked very often. The one in the pictures you attached looks very real to me. I don't really know what to tell concerning buying one since they are not very commonly found. I would suggest taking a look at a wide variety of sites and seeing if any of them have anything. Btw it would probably be worthwhile to search not only under Parahomalonotus but also under Wenndorfia as many of the species were moved to the genus Wenndorfia. Kane would would be the one to ask however I imagine he knows some good dealers to check out.

The member you are replying to has not been on the Forum since February 2017, so you probably should not expect a response to your post.  I wonder what happened to him, as he was one of our more regular contributors.

The last time I heard from him, Barry had retired and was taking up other things.
We had a fun and witty repartee. I do miss him.
