Help with prehistoric tooth

Welcome to the Forum. :) 

Unfortunately, that is not a tooth of any kind. 

There is no enamel, as a tooth would have, and no bone texture to the "root". 

You have a joining of some type of iron bearing mineral with different type of rock. 

Possibly a sandstone/ironstone concretion. 

Keep looking. ;)

I think the resemblance to a Petalodus sp tooth is superficial, at best. :unsure:
