Bguild
Hi All, While perusing the web I came across this Spino tooth that I would like some second opinions on. It's a good size tooth and I am wondering whether the root is authentic or if maybe this is a composite tooth. Any thoughts? Thanks as always! LordTrilobite
Looks real but I think it might be painted/stained to hide some missing enamel. 1 Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite

That's what I am wondering myself. I'm having a hard time trying to make out if this tooth is A.) a composite tooth B.) Painted in areas
LordTrilobite
Based on these photos I would say probably stained, and possibly repaired. There an area near the tip that looks like there might have been a break there. But the size and details seem to fit the rest of the tooth so I don't think it's a composite. But of course it's always hard to judge from just photos. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite

Susan from PA
I agree that the tooth does seem to be repaired at the tip and possibly stained. It does not appear to me to be a composite. While Spinosaurid teeth are quite common, ones this size are starting to become scarce. Nice addition to your collection!
