Fossil Tooth?

Could be some kind of polished tooth or tusk. But it doesn't look like a fossil.

My first thought was some type of ivory.  Could it be polished walrus tusk ivory or something like that?  Are you able to remove the cap and see if it is hollow?  I personally think its not fossilized.
