FossilDAWG Posted February 20, 2017 Share Posted February 20, 2017 It is a neuropteroid pinnule, possibly (just based on the size) Macroneuropteris. If it is Macroneuropteris, you may be able to see fine hairs attached to the veins. The preservation as white fossil on black shale suggests it may have come from St. Clair, Pennsylvania (Pennsylvanian Allegheny Formation).
