Jdeutsch
#1 was screened from the ocean at Venice Beach, the others were found in Peace River Not sure #5 can be identified but it looked like it was coated with enamel
Al Dente
#2 is a barnacle steinkern. #3 is a reptile vertebra, probably alligator. #4 is a stingray dermal denticle. Don't know about 1 and 5.
digit
I do like it when I scroll down and find that my thoughts coincide with those of Al Dente. I concur on #2-#4 and agree that #1 is some sort of worn bone fragment and I'm thinking that #5 might just be some faker phosphate nodule and not fossil at all. Doesn't look like a chunk of mastodon tooth which would have been my first guess. Cheers. -Ken
Past Hunter
Could # 5 be amber? I have several pieces I found that look suspiciously like the bottom one. "If you choose not to decide. You still have made a choice." - Rush
digit
I'm not sure that we have any deposits of amber in Florida. Can't say I've ever heard of any being found here. Phosphate we do have (by the truckful) and that would be my guess do the prevalence and general appearance. Cheers. -Ken
Past Hunter
I was out of town last week and didn't have access to my stuff. Here are a few pictures of some examples of amber found in a phosphate mine. "If you choose not to decide.
