karenilm
Hello! I was hoping that someone could help me with these objects found at Wrightsville Beach. The first three images are object #1 and the rest of images are object #2 Thank you very much for any help you can provide!!!
jpc
the second one looks more fossily than the first. Where is this beach and are fossils generally found there? Of what age?
FossilDudeCO
I believe object number 1 may be a whale ear bone.

Where is this beach and are fossils generally found there? Of what age? This is Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina. The items that I have had identified (thanks to Al Dente) from Wrightsville Beach are: 1) Shark tooth - Otodus (Carcharocles) auriculatus or Otodus (Carcharocles) angustidens. 2) Shark tooth - in the middle is a Great White Carcharodon carcharias. 3) The other fossil is a piece of Mastodon or Gomphothere tooth. sixgill pete
The second item does appear to be a broken, well worn and tumbled piece of bone. The first item, at least to me appears to be geologic, possibly a piece of phosphate? 2 Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt behind the trailer, my desert Them red clay piles are heaven on earth I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt Patterson Hood; Drive-By Truckers May 2016 May 2012 Aug 2013, May 2016, Apr 2020 Oct 2022
