Hi, whilst walking the beach at Llantwit Major (Wales) I came across this fossil. It was approx. 30cm wide. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify it? Thanks for your help!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It's a large ammonite from the lower part of the Lower Lias (Jurassic period).

Hard to identify from what's there but may be Coroniceras or something similar.

I agree it is a Lias ammonite, but it looks a bit angular in the ribs for Coroniceras, though it is a bit too worn to tell. Keep looking in the same area and you might find a better preserved one.
