austinswamp
We had some rain recently in Austin, so naturally I checked the creek. I found this protruding from the bank. ID suggestions?

Fruitbat
Thanks for providing the additional picture. Actually...I'm leaning more toward a domestic dog based on: The angle of the upward curve at the front of the skull is more pronounced than I would expect from a dire wolf or a coyote. The carnassial (M1) doesn't appear to be robust enough for the dire wolf. The sagittal crest on the dire wolf is usually more posteriorly extended than on your specimen, often to the point of hooking downward at the very distal end. -Joe Illigitimati non carborundum Fruitbat's PDF Library
