TomK3775
Hello everybody- first post here: I took a dive trip off of Venice Beach Florida last week and was hoping somebody could tell me what I found. The first three pictures show what I'm pretty sure is some kind of tooth. It's about 3-1/4" long and about 3/8" X 3/4" on the wide end. The second object looks like some kind of to me but i'm not sure. It's just a little over an inch long and about 5/8" X 1" on the end. I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks
FossilDudeCO
your first one appears to be a section of Horse tooth to me!
ynot
Welcome to TFF! Agree with horse tooth fragment on first one. Second one is a suggestively shaped rock, not a fossil. Tony 2 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." My Fossil collection - My Mineral collection My favorite thread on TFF. Vieira
I agree with the others. The first one it is a horse tooth. The second one is not a tooth definetly.
Lone wolf
I agree the first is a horse tooth and the second is probably a rock . fyi the best way I have found to clean the coral and shell from fossils found at venice beach is to use Apple cider vinegar I've used it on hundreds of bone and teeth fossils over the years and have had great success . Do some research before soaking a fossil in any type of solution to avoid a disaster.
