Shellseeker
Unfortunately, I did not find this fossil. My hunting buddy did!. Right now I have just this photo. Making the assumption that this is going to be Bear or Jaguar. Would like the Identification help all understand how to differentiate, The tip has been broken, most likely pre-mortem. Shellseeker
An unidentified canine is like an itch that I can not scratch.. so I look around over and over again. Bear canine: more flat than round, and a little slant where enamel meets root: Jaguar: More round than flat and straighter line where enamel meets root I believe that my fossil hunting partner's find is a 3 inch Jaguar (Panthera Onca) Canine. 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
