Sharktooth Hill teeth have amazing colors.  These Squalus show colors seen in the micros of the fauna.

I agree wholeheartedly! And Your samples are wonderful at showing that! Thanks for adding to this thread.

Tony,

Yes ,  Bone Valley.  I think that these color patterns with bright white roots are unique to bone valley but I am not positive.  I purchased this one, although I have found BV Megs not quite as pristine. (Darktooth, I would love to have enough of these to consider selling, but I too cherish this small but almost perfect Meg). Because I am so close to BV and know both hunters and dealers,  I get photos of cool specimens like the 4 inch Meg at the bottom of this post.

The tooth in the screen is one I found in a Blancan site and it is Palaeolama mirifica M3 or m3, not positive on upper or lower.

All very nice!!:thumbsu:

Tony,

I am addicted to colorful Megs. I see them from friends and dealers. Occasionally, I get into Bone Valley and picked up teeth in photos #5, #7, #8 . I also look on dealer site and find myself mostly saying Nope, can't afford that, Nope, can't afford that, Nope, can't afford that, ....... but once in a while, I give myself a present. The Red Meg is from the Meherrin River in North Carolina and I bought it 3 years ago.. I wanted to make sure that I had at least one in my collection!!

Small calvert cliffs chub. The back (or technically the front) has some cool discoloration that is light orange.

I can see why!

I like it !!! There is an interesting discussion to be had on how multiple colors, markings, lightening strikes get into or onto a tooth. Do you know of other teeth from the same area with similar coloration?

Here is a selection of porpoise teeth from (You guessed it) Sharktooth hill.

I would like to see more terrestrial type teeth, not that I do not want to see more aqueous ones.

That Red Meg is slaying this topic.  Holy moley ....

Here are a few wave tumbled finds in Savannah GA on Tybee island.  The dredge spoils have quite the range. The white ones are sometimes hard to spot. The smallest popped up in my 1/4 inch sifter.

Cheers,

B
