shark 1.htmlshark 1.htmlHi,

New to the forum and new to fossil collecting.  Frequent the Potomac river in Virginia near Westmoreland State Park.  Today I found this sharks tooth and am having trouble identifying it. It was found along the high tide line along with some Turritella molds and shells. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks

Thanks!  Was wondering because of the absence of the Bourlette which is seen on other pics I was able to find.

+1 to megalodon tooth, small amount of bourlette is weird. Looks to me as the lower lateral meg tooth. But I am not experienced in identifying fossils.

I would say it's a posterior Megalodon tooth :) Nice find!
