Petrified wood on chert

Could this be petrified wood attached to chert/flint?

AAA batteries for scale.

Size--3" length   1 1/2 "height    1 3/8" thickness

That is a typical surface structure for some cryptocrystalline quartz. (agate, chert, flint....)

I do not see petrified wood here, I see a piece of jasper (yellow agate).
