help with ?tooth? please

Any thoughts on what this little tooth (I think it's a tooth) might have belonged to? It was found near Venice Beach in Florida.

Does anyone have a guess? Could it be a claw of some sort?

Not seeing a tooth here, maybe a shell fragment. Not sure about this thing though.

Really would need better pics to make a good guess on ID. The item needs to be the focus of the picture, not your fingers. Take good clear, in focus well lit pictures. Then crop them to show just the item. You can lay something beside it for scale or just give us accurate measurements.

This item looks very much like a worn/broken section of a stingray barb.

 

Do a search here for stingray barb or stingray spine and see if you find something that helps.
