MarcusFossils
Hi all, I recently acquired a bunch of Haragan/Bois D'Arc formation trilobites, and now comes the fun part: identification! I would be hugely appreciative if you could tell me subtle differences between the various Huntoniatonia species, along with the differences between the phacopids (Kainops raymondi, Paciphacops campbelli, Lochovella deckeri & Viaphacops bombifrons are all of them?) Lastly, there's a Scutelluid trilobite that came with the lot. Not convinced it's a Breviscutellum..I have seen mention of a second Scutelluid...I'll include a picture: Thank you! Especially the difference between Paciphacops and Viaphacops is confusing Website: https://www.instagram.com/paleo_archives/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- “It is by no means an irrational fancy that, in a future existence, we shall look upon what we think our present existence, as a dream.” ― Edgar Allan Poe
piranha
Looks like it's time for some reading! This publication describes all of those trilobites: Campbell, K.S.W. (1977) Trilobites of the Haragan, Bois D'Arc and Frisco Formations (Early Devonian) Arbuckle Mountains Region, Oklahoma. Oklahoma Geological Survey Bulletin, 123:1-227 The paper is available at this LINK, but the plates are low quality. Check your email for an enhanced version with hi-resolution plates.

Thank you again In Hansen's book, there's a collage of Kainops raymondi that includes the following: To me, this look like a typical Lochovella, no?
