Hi.  I found this in Lancashire, UK in the Pennine Lower Coal Measures formation.  Is it an Ostracod?  I find a lot of Ostracods in shale but I've never seen any Ostracods in British Coal Measures sandstone.  It measures around 5mm long.

Thanks,

Daniel

Not enough detail to say.

Hi.  Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately the sandstone hasn't preserved it well- the shape is also like some Rhizodont scales which I have found but unfortunately all of the detail has gone.

Thanks,
