Strepsodus
Hi. I found this in Lancashire, UK in the Pennine Lower Coal Measures formation. Is it an Ostracod? I find a lot of Ostracods in shale but I've never seen any Ostracods in British Coal Measures sandstone. It measures around 5mm long. Unfortunately the sandstone hasn't preserved it well- the shape is also like some Rhizodont scales which I have found but unfortunately all of the detail has gone.
