Where was this found?

It looks like a chunk of suggestively shaped limestone, to me. 

I don't see any bone texture to this item. 

Wait for some other opinions, though.

Can we get a few more photos from different angles?

Top, Sides, front, back, and bottom would be helpful.

where at in NC? Much of the piedmont and all of the mountains are bereft of fossils. There are Triassic basins in the Piedmont though that have rare vertebrate fossils and of course the coastal plain has probably hundreds of sites. There are pieces of Peedee rock on the beaches in Brunswick County that look like this.
