dinos
I recently brought these teeth from a website (they deal with fossils) and was assured they are 100% real. I am newbie to this so I would just like some assurance that these are in fact real or fakes. Any comments would be much appreciated. The biggest one is about 2 1/5 inches. Location: Kem Kem, Morocco Age: 65-95 million years Thanks!
Troodon
Welcome to the forum The two on the left and the far right one are Spinosaurid teeth. Cannot tell what the other one is.
Bguild
Yep, they're real! Although Troodon does bring up a good point about the tooth 2nd from the right. Spinosaurus teeth aren't usually this curved, but maybe yours is due to the way the tooth broke, or wore down.
Troodon
My guess is that's a croc tooth possibly similiar to Elosuchus cherifiensis but I not familiar with all croc's in that region. Some like this one has some very similiar features and is curved. Spinosaurid teeth are straight like Bguild indicated.
Bguild
I was thinking croc as well. Shapewise its very similar to one in my collection.
LordTrilobite
Real. And I agree. That third tooth looks like it could be croc. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
-Andy-
I am on the croc gang too. The cross section looks like croc. Do Spino teeth have cross sections like that? Looking forward to meeting my fellow Singaporean collectors! Do PM me if you are a Singaporean, or an overseas fossil-collector coming here for a holiday! When you say cross section are you referring to the back end view of the tooth? My spino tooth has a similar end to the tooth in question above, but the rest of the tooth doesn't match at all. Runner64
I agree with the third one from the right being a crocodile Tooth however the rest look like Spinosaurus! Good news too, they don't look they are composites or have any cracks and holes filled with matrix. Looks good to me.
