bridgebum
My wife and I retired, and this winter we spent two months in the North Myrtle Beach area. We walked on the beach almost every day and came up with a number of obvious fossils, mostly some kind of bivalve. But we also found a few things that may or may not be anything. We're completely clueless, and we're hoping that someone here can help.
Harry Pristis
They appear to be steinkerns, casts of the interior of bi-valves. These are not uncommon on the beach there in MB. 3 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
Rustdee
The first two objects are parts of oyster shells. I agree that the last two objects are steinkerns.
Vieira
I agree, the first two are oyster shells fragments...
bridgebum
Thank you for the quick responses - we appreciate the education! The only reason we thought the objects in the first picture might not be shell was that they are convex on both sides and fairly symmetrical.
