Are these ammonites as rare as they say?

I'm thinking about buying this, I love sliced ammonites and have never seen one quite like this one, is this actually rare at all?

Not rare.  Been a long time, but I think those may be from Madagascar?  Use to see boxes of them by the hundreds in Tucson.  Other folks may chime in with more info for you.

Not rare, no, but very beautiful.  If the deal is good go for it.

As the others said, that is not a rare species.  However, I don't often see that species sold split like that... usually it is sold intact.

Most ammonites that look similar to this are not rare in the slightest my advice is trust but verify anyone can say something is rare good strategy posting it before purchasing.
