Max-fossils Posted April 8, 2017 Share Posted April 8, 2017 Hi all, Is this a mako? In my opinion it looks a little bit like Isurus oxirhynchus, but I'm not sure. I know that it's quite worn, but still IDable. It comes from Balegem, Belgium (--> Lutetian, Eocene; 45 mya). Troodon Posted April 8, 2017 Share Posted April 8, 2017 The tooth is quite worn to make a call for me. It's not a mako they were not around in the Eocene. Could be a sand tiger shark. Looking at the website you gave me, makos were alive at the time, with Isurus praecursor (which actually seems like an OK option to me).
