Andyham
Help please, found what I thought was a crusty arrowhead; but it appears to be a fossil. High on a chalky/flinty down area, amongst early iron or Bronze Age earthworks. Looks like a classic arrowhead shape with a tang or stem at the opposite end to the flattened blade end. Approx 5cm long, 1cm deep thinning to 3mm at the 'blade' end.

BobWill
Welcome to the forum If you think this may be an artifact you might have better luck posting it on an archeological forum. Some of our members know something about both artifacts and fossils but we focus on fossils here.
Andyham
Will get better pics up. It has little weight to it, reluctant to start bashing away at it! It would be bronze or iron if an arrowhead, but looks like it is all mineral, and no staining to indicate metal oxide. Is there no similar fossil form? If not I will gently soak in mild vinegar; but I risk dissolving it completely if it is simply a fossil.

ynot
I do not see a artifact or fossil. I agree with concretion. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys."
