Mooftress
Hello. My name is Michele. My father in law gave me a chunk of rock from a creek in Medina Ohio that has some plant fossilized in it. I was wondering if it could be identified and roughly how old it may be? I tried to put an image in but had some issues so here is a link to my Facebook image of it: https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154324036140248&id=586335247&set=a.499883895247.271699.586335247&source=
Fossildude19
I'll post the photo here for posterity. Not plants - looks like invertebrate trace fossils, ... or Ichnofossils. Burrows made by worms, shells, crustaceans, ... etc. Maybe something similar to Arthrophycus. Mooftress
Oh neat! Thank you for identifying this. Any idea how old this would have to be to be fossilized?

According to this generalized bedrock geologic map of Ohio, the are is Devonian-Mississippian in age. So, roughly 408-320 million years old.
