Bakersfield Round Mtn Silt Formation 04-13-2017

My wife and I both took a day off work to dig another hole in Bakersfield. Our best day yet. Felt like we did not spend more than 5 minutes without finding a tooth, big or small. Found over 200 teeth and hunted for a solid 6-7 hours. These are photos of some of the best ones we found.

Front and Back:

Large front seal tooth (I think), and other smaller seal teeth. Most likely from the same animal since I found them in very close proximity.

Coco,

The teeth are a mix of Carcharodon Isurus hastalis (Straight) and Isurus Planus (Hooked)

The pinniped teeth are all Allodesmus kernensis - a canine and some premolars.

wow congrats on some excellent finds. I will be there in June. Was this Ernst Quarry? or is there another collecting area near there that you were at?
