Shellseeker
I had an interesting day. Not MANY finds but the ones I did find were either favorites OR somewhat unusual. Favorites were a 1.3 inch GW and a 1.6 inch Sloth tooth, Now the Canine I am requesting an ID on: The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
fossilized6s
The wavy root doesn't suggest canine tooth, but more tusk. Possibly a peccary tusk. Nice finds! ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG
Shellseeker
Charlie, I think you may be right. It is not a "normal" tooth root. Some sort of peccary, tapir. wild pig tusk may be the way to go. I had a very similar find 3-4 years back that was never identified.. I just tracked down my previous ID request from 2015. My hunting buddy thought this was tusk and the root seems tusklike in both your picture and my photo -- hollow and "crimpy". Is this upper canine a tusk ? The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"

Nice finds! Charlie, I now think you were correct. Just found this Peccary tusk for sale on ebay by PrehistoricFlorida. Almost exact except for size.
