Found in a small creek that runs behind my house.  Northern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

My first thought was it looks like a crab leg.  I was told it is just water wear.

Move ahead 3 years and I show it to someone else.  I'm told it could be an Eurypterid.

Any help on ID'ing this?
Thanks!

According to this geologic map,

... there are some Ordovician areas in Northern Lancaster county.  (pink)

However, I am leaning towards geologic on this one.

Wait for some more opinions, however.

I'm in the green/red on that map.

Then it can't be Eurypterus, since they died out long before the Jurassic/Triassic.

That is a granitic or maybe limestone rock that is weathered with dirt filled cracks in it.

Yes the 3rd and 4th pics look weathered or water worn to me. The first 2 pictures look nothing like the last 2.

Having seen many a eurypterid in my day, alas I fear this is but an illusion in a geologic. Also totally wrong age.
