My first hunt!

Recommended Posts

Woogie

After stumbling across my 1st ever fossil yesterday, I was determined to get out again this morning for a proper look, I did manage a few hours, never imagined how hard going it is though, using a caveman approach didn't help matters(bashing rocks together) I did manage to find a few though, most definitely missed a lot more

Anyways, a few pics of what I found and some cool looking things in rocks

I thought this might have been the other half of yesterday's find, it is slightly bigger though!

Not spectacular by any means, a Clam, Barnacle(?) and another half of a "sea biscuit", I'm happy though

Also some cool looking things I found in rocks

Il stop spamming now!

Last day of the holiday so no more fossil hunting here, can't wait to get home and have a look though, the east coast of England seems to be pretty productive

Until then I shall spend many hours reading, admiring  and getting to grips with the terminology

Thanks

You now have a collection!

Nice finds. Grab yourself a hammer. Mine's just cheap hammer from screwfix http://www.screwfix.com/p/forge-steel-one-piece-brick-hammer-20oz/7546c, get some decent gloves and eye protection. Really important to write down as accurately as you can the locations and if you can take pics of the area and of your finds in situ.

Looking foreard to day day three when you can get there again. :)

If you're in Wales, there should be many fossil sites, especially Paleozoic ones, that you can check out with less traveling involved, whether that's in Wales itself or neighbouring parts of England... right John?
