siteseer
The prep is exquisite bringing to light an ichthyosaur skeleton that was captured by sediment just before it completely disarticulated. It's a miracle of nature perhaps more so than if every bone was still in place. I hope to visit the Hauff Museum someday. I have "Das Holzmadenbuch," an early 80's guide to the great variety of fossils that have been found at Holzmaden.
caterpillar
The top would be a 3D rebuilding http://www.paleotheque.fr

Soupy substrates: a medium for the exceptional preservation of ichthyosaurs of the Posidonia Shale (Lower Jurassic) of Germany. Kaupia, 2, 77-97" and that explain what right paddles are in anatomic position and left paddles are desarticuled. 3D rebuilding is better but involves restoration... Laboratary FODERE
Yes of course and it's hard on holzmaden fossils because all bones are usually compressed.
