How Big Is Your Rugosa/ Horn Coral?

Found this rugosa coral in a rock blasted in a quarry. It measures 12 inches and has both ends broke off!! Show us how large your horn corals are! Still need to clean this one up a little.

That sure is a monster! Up here, the largest ones I find are about 6-8 inches, but the tabulates can be enormous.

The ones I find get big around, rather than long.

unless you count these..which are horn corals as well...

 

I believe these are Amplexus sp.

Yes, we had a quarry hunt with the Cedar Valley Fossil Club. It was a rock that was in a pile and ready for the crusher. Wished I was able to get the ends that were missing.

Some rather nice corals here.  I do have one that I kept from years ago that is quite large, but have no idea where its at at the moment.  i will run into it someday.    Those ones from JimB88 are really nice!
