My friend has this fossil he says is from Kansas or Kentucky, but we don't know what it is. Anyone know?

It has the look of a brachiopod, but without a more distinct location, it is very challenging to pin down a precise ID. :(

The rock is likely marine sediment. At the time of deposition, the area was likely a sea. Take a look here at what the earth looked like at various geologic periods: http://www.scotese.com/earth.htm

Antiquatonia sp. I think. Maybe A. americanus as it's common throughout Kansas (idk about Kentucky) but specific region would be really helpful to ID this one.
