I found some associated chunks in the Peace River in Florida yesterday and they are extremely fragile. I'm keeping them in water until I know how to proceed. I have, on hand, some Butvar B-98 crystals but I've had trouble getting them to dissolve in acetone. Is there a trick? My understanding, also, is that butvar cannot be used until the fossil is completely dry. I would appreciate any input on this subject. Thank you! JohnBrewer Posted May 22, 2017 Share Posted May 22, 2017 I've not used Butvar but if it's anything like Paraloid at higher strengths it does take time to dissolve.
