Miatria
This tooth came out of the mud shattered and I reassembled the pieces I had. It was found in Florida's Peace River in a mix of miocene and pleistocene material. It measures approx. 2.25" wide x 2.25" long x 3/8" thick. ynot
I think it is a plate from a mammoth tooth. Edit-- I missed this one bad, Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." My Fossil collection - My Mineral collection My favorite thread on TFF.

digit
I too was thinking plate from a mammoth but it didn't look quite right. It wasn't till I saw the growth lines (parallel to the chewing surface) that the slothy nature of this tooth was revealed. Never seen a rear molar from a sloth before--quite a nice find! Great job piecing this puzzle back together and kudos on the excellent photography. I do so enjoy days when I learn something new on this forum. Cheers. -Ken
