Can someone identify these Carboniferous ferns? The last two pics may be of the same species? Any help will be appreciated...thanks!

Second and third are Alethopteris.

I believe the first is Sphenosphaera, but it's a much less confident ID.

First one looks like a Mariopterid, the next two look like Neuropterids.

I believe Sphenosphaera  is a genus of gastropods.

Perhaps you meant Sphenopteris

It has a good sampling of Carboniferous plant fossils.

I don't believe these are Alethopteris. The second and third images are Neuropterids. When I get home tonight I'll break out the ol' book on Carboniferous ferns to see if I can drill down a a bit further.

notice the amount of ultrastructural data needed for species discrimination

Yest that is what I meant, for some reason Sphenopteris autocorrects to Sphenosphaera on my phone...

Micah,

I figured as much. :)

At least it auto-corrected to a different fossil.

It could have been much worse with autocorrect.

Agree with most...thinking the 1st is a Mariopterid of some sort and the 2nd and third Neuropterid...there was an Odontopteris that has a Neuropterid tip and then slightly differrent lower pinnules that comes to mind.

Hoping Jack or one of the others can nail the genera for you.
