As the title says, more of a reccy for later in the year when I hope to meet Nick @Barerootbonsai again for a hunt. I went away to shoot several images for a cd cover/book for a quirky band http://ironbootscrapers.com/

using one of the Victorian methods of photography I practice.

On the journey back back I decided to spend an hour at Wren's Nest in Dudley, West Midlands, UK https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wren's_Nest Wren's Nest is a productive Silurian site, particularly for corals such as favosites and rugosa.

Here's a fine looking chap at the site

As it's a Site of Special Scientific Interest no hammering is allowed. It's not necessary anyway. Most things can be found on the small scree slopes

No 'Dudley Bugs' this time - (Calymene blumenbachi).  I've only ever found three there and they weren't in great condition either. This is some of what took home after an hour there.

Re Merry HiIl, we'll never know sadly.

Check The Iron Boot Scrapers website. Difficult to categorise. Rock played by musicians with Edwardian instruments and clothes I guess :headscratch:

John

The hatred shown in my city of Manchester in the UK on the 22nd May will only make us stronger. Peace.

Amen!!!!! My thoughts go out to each and every resident in your lovely city. Terrorism can only win if it divides the world apart. We must insure this does NOT happen.
