Dinosaur footprint?

Recommended Posts

Hi.  I found this on the Yorkshire coast, UK (Jurassic.)  Is it a dinosaur footprint?  The 'footprint' isn't clear so I have drawn an outline on the second photo.   The possible footprint measures 6.5 inches.  Dinosaur footprints are quite common on the Yorkshire coast.

Thanks,

Daniel

In my view you are are being a bit optimistic. It looks like a weathered cobble with a vague resemblance to footprint. I probably would have picked it up too however...

Hi.  Thanks for the replies.  Here is an ammonite which I found yesterday.  I think it's Androgynoceras sp but I'm not sure.

Hi.  I hammered the rock this morning to see what it looks like inside and the thing I found is certainly not a footprint, but it does contain a lot of tiny (less than 1mm) fish teeth.

Thanks,
