Kettleness ichthyosaur bone prep

Made a start on a piece of water rolled bone block from Kettleness Yorkshire.

Looking like Ichthyosaur femur? loads of what could be small ribs and ammonites mixed into the mix. Hard going matrix very tough and the bone pings off easily.

Looking forward to seeing more uncovered. Not really seeing it as an ichthy femur tho from what's showing so far :headscratch:but I'm probably looking at it from the wrong angle!

I am open to suggestions as too what it is. I assumed with my limited knowledge it was ichthy, but as from Kettleness could be croc or plesi.

Think I may have a dig around in my book and google and see if something else pops up to help id it.

Try to get a bit more done to help.

Had a mooch around and think it is paddle bones with digits, possible Plesi due to the shape.

Hopefully have time this weekend and next week to try and uncover some more.

Did half hr today but hopefully more this Friday.

I am using a KM TT pen with chisel tip to rough out and pointed tip for closer work. Having to reduced the rpm so not to ping the bone off. Well that is my aim but has failed a little. ☹️

Hopefully post some more pics soon.

I have a concretion with 10 plus paddle bones in, hoping the ST does the job, should do with a bit of patience, been to Kettleness a few times, that tide can be scary getting back from the front and round as it comes in, comes in quick.
