Fun Finding
I have stumbled upon a mosasaur skeleton (or at least I assume so ) it is in pieces and I have so far found 3 ribs and 3 vertebrae and it keeps going back into the chalk that it is in . It is in the Smokey Hill Chalk formations in Kansas. It is in many pieces each rib is in about 5-12 pieces and vertebrae are mostly intact
Fruitbat
Oh thank GOODNESS! I was hoping that I wasn't the only one who couldn't see it! Mosasaur remains are not uncommon in the Smoky Hills Chalk so it is very possible that you have located at least part of one...but we'll have to see some pictures of the actual specimens you're finding to make any kind of meaningful diagnosis. DPS Ammonite
Welcome to The Fossil Forum. I found a person but not a Mosasaur. My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. Jeffrey P
Yeah. Looks like a human, not a mosasaur. Keep looking.
-Andy-
Welcome to TFF! Could you upload close-ups of the mosasaur skeletons, or the loose parts you found? Looking forward to meeting my fellow Singaporean collectors! Do PM me if you are a Singaporean, or an overseas fossil-collector coming here for a holiday! Miocene_Mason
I don't no know much about mosasaurs, but I reckon it's a good guess. I'm sure the experts should chime in and give it a look. It should prep up real nice. “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason

I have moved your topic to the correct forum : Fossil ID. I removed your other post, as one post about the same item is enough. Sometimes, it takes a few days to get an ID. Some patience is required. ynot
Would help if You could post differing views, sides, top and ends. Also a scale helps. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." My Fossil collection - My Mineral collection My favorite thread on TFF.
