Fossil'n'Roll
I bought this 3.5" Carcharodontosaurus tooth on a certain auction site recently for $650. It looks real (and not a composite) to me, but the color does seem a bit strange in a few places. I'm sure it's just a natural pattern and I'm (slightly) worried over nothing but I have to ask. Does the tooth look dyed to any of you? If so, it was VERY carefully done but this is my first dinosaur tooth and I haven't really seen enough to be completely sure. The seller has 100% positive feedback with a lot of reviews. First three photos are indoors with flash, last two are outside. Indoor photos show the proper color (on my monitor). LordTrilobite
No red flags. This tooth looks completely real. Congrats on your wonderful Carcharodontosaurus tooth! Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
Troodon
Agreed looks fine and is a nice tooth. Dying is not what you would see done on this type of tooth and it would be evident in the area below the enamel. A prep person would crack fill/patch and then paint which is not apparent. The color is typical of what you see from that region.
Seguidora-de-Isis
The serrations are well defined and are in line with what I expect in a good Carcharodontosauridae tooth. I do not see anything wrong with the coloring, it is a coloration typical of the Moroccan teeth of kem kem beds. You have an excellent tooth! Welcome to the forum! Is It real, or it's not real, that's the question!

-Andy-
No dye from me either. I have seen dyed ones, and this one looks fine. Nice tooth! Looking forward to meeting my fellow Singaporean collectors! Do PM me if you are a Singaporean, or an overseas fossil-collector coming here for a holiday!
