Impression of sea creature or just a rock?

Where was this found?

It could be an imprint of a pellet lined burrow, ... something akin to Ophiomorpha, perhaps. :unsure:

Around Silt and Rifle, Colorado. North of I-70. Western slope of Colorado.

There are "worm" burrows around Rifle Resevoir. That is how they were explained to the geology class I took. Those were much smaller. I didn't realize they could be as big as this. Interesting.

If it's a burrow (and I think Tim may be right), it's most likely to be from an arthropood.
