mattbsharks
This tooth is from South Carolina, and it doesn't look like any of the species i am familiar with. It seems like the root is way to big for it to be a meg.

mattbsharks
Thank you! I was wondering what it was!
sixgill pete
The tooth could be as ynot said. However, in my opinion it is to well worn and broken to be sure of an ID. It could be Isurus oxyrinchus, Cretolamna sp, Scapanorhynchus or even a Carcharias species coming off of a S.C. beach. I presume the Myrtle Beach area? All of those I mentioned have the same general look root. Remember the root is extremely worn and broken, as is the blade.
