Tooth Finish

Whats the best thing for coating a mosasaur tooth i want to make into a pendant. I've seen some with a clear lacquer on and can't find any info on what it could be...Any help would be great.

are you sure what what you have seen has been lacquered? Mossy teeth are generally shiny, we'll all mine are. I can't see any reason to add lacquer unless it's to stabilise the root. If that what you mean? If so for jewellery purposes I guess you could use a resin or superglue which are waterproof or use a product that palaeontologists use like Paraloid or Butvar.
