Hi again all another weird one found walking a trail saw that orange 

color with the white not sure what it is

Looks like it is just mineral staining to me. The colour is quite vibrant!

In the first picture, there appears to be a vague spiral pattern to the lower 2/3rds of the specimen in question. Could this be a very weathered Maclurite embedded in matrix??? Similar to this:card-13828550-front.jpg

I don't think so - the spiral pattern looks to be only on the surface, indicating to me that it is mineral staining only.

Tim, with the enlargement that you provided, I agree the spiral pattern is superficial, so likely not a maclurite worn. Maclurites  spiral on one side only so stream worn ones can sometimes be a bit confusing when looking at the back side, expecting a corresponding symmetrical spiral.
