Fossil Found At Beaumaris

Hello,

I found the following specimen at Beaumaris today.

It has a bone like shape ....looks like the end of a long bone, but it's hollow.

Can anyone assist with an identification.

It would seem to be geological in origin; not fossil. But do keep looking! Beaumaris is known to have fossils! I would recommend looking at a few books or guides that might have some photos of fossils found there to train your eye.

I agree,

 

looks like a rind from a concretion. Could be an iron ore like limonite. The flat face could be a natural joint in the rock.

Some important fossils have come from this location so keep your eyes peeled!

I agree with the others. Some examples of the Beaumaris local fauna could be seen here . Your specimen might be an ironstone structure.
