Rockwood
These seem to be traces, but have an odd assortment of characteristics. Found in lake shore glacial float. Most likely Tarratine sandstone,a Pragian marine delta related formation. Any thoughts ?
Miocene_Mason
I have done no research and am not familiar with the formation, but it looks like an ichno to me. As you may know, burrows are not uncommon in shallow water deposits, such as deltas and shallow lakes or seas. “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
Fossildude19
Looks plant-ish, to me - especially in pic 3. Wrangellian
I was thinking the same thing as Tim. The whole piece looks to have scattered plant bits.
Arizona Chris
Looks a bit carbonized to me too, is the black material around the tubes carbon? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arizona Chris Paleo Web Site: http://schursastrophotography.com/fossiladventures.html
Rockwood
That would explain why it looks more like debris than a community. The victims of a flood that were washed out to sea perhaps. Thanks guys.
