JojoMozza
Hi all, I've this odd shark tooth and the seller told me it was a Megalodon, just wanted to double check. It looks pathological if it is a megalodon and comes from a river in Georgia. The size is 3.8". Thank you for your help!
PaleoRon
It is a megalodon tooth. The front teeth are symmetrical and as you follow the teeth toward the back of the jaw they begin to get the curved shape, the far posterior teeth are often wider across the root than high.
JojoMozza
Thank you @PaleoRon for clearing that up! would this be a posterior tooth or more of an anterior?
PaleoRon
I would probably call it a lateral.
