Howdy ya'll! This Calamite comes from last week's finds. When I pried open the shale slab this 3D stem cast fell out. On the exterior and interior there appears to be a Trigonocarpus  (seed pod) imbedded into the side (enlarged pics). Evidently the seed made its way into the hollow portion of the Calamite as it filled with sediment and was captured in time. If you guys see something else please chime in.

Not sure about it, but it could be a seed. :unsure: 

I just don't know enough about it. It does look seed-like, from the surrounding bulge.

Either way, it is a very cool fossil, Ric! :)
