Im going to agree with you that it does look like bone. It definitely has the texture and shape. I have seen pieces of pet wood pulled out of the mazon beds that do resemble this. The black staining leads me towards carbonized wood rather than bone. Its a interesting find though. I would of picked it up too. You find this over by Briarwood or Coal City area?
